Safe Helpline virtual training on The Survivor Experiences Survey and the Impact of Re-Traumatization on Sexual Assault Victims

Topic: The Survivor Experiences Survey and the Impact of Re-Traumatization on Sexual Assault Victims.
Presented by Defense Manpower Data Center and Dr. Nate Galbreath, DoD SAPRO.

Description: The Survivor Experiences Survey, conducted by the Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC), is a voluntary and anonymous survey used to assess the views of survivors of sexual assault regarding the services and resources they recently received or utilized. Learn more about the questions that are asked, how participants’ safety and confidentiality are protected during the survey, and what SARCs, Victim Advocates and Commanders need to know about the survey process. During this session, Dr. Galbreath will also share information on how re-traumatization can impact sexual assault victims and why it is so important for us to learn from victims’ experiences in order to prevent future re-victimization.
